  • Universal Chemical Resistance

    PTFE's carbon-fluorine bonds are among the strongest in chemistry — no common acid, base, solvent, or oxidizer attacks PTFE. The only exceptions are molten alkali metals (sodium, lithium), elemental fluorine, and a handful of exotic reagents. For chemical handling equipment in contact with aggressive process fluids, PTFE is the definitive answer.

  • Lowest Friction of Any Solid Material

    PTFE has a static coefficient of friction of approximately 0.04 — lower than any other solid material. Bearings, slides, and seals in PTFE run with virtually no resistance without added lubricant. This property makes PTFE indispensable for dry-running seals, zero-contamination bearings, and medical/food applications where lubricant is prohibited.

  • Widest Temperature Range

    PTFE operates continuously from -200°C (cryogenic) to +260°C — the widest temperature range of any common engineering plastic. For seals, gaskets, and components that experience thermal cycling or extreme operating temperatures, PTFE's stability across this range is unmatched.

  • Non-Stick Surface

    PTFE's surface energy is so low that almost no material adheres to it — the basis for non-stick cookware, but equally important for process equipment where product buildup must be avoided. Chemical reactor linings, mixing bowls, and conveyor components are specified in PTFE to prevent material adhesion and contamination.

  • Biocompatibility and Purity

    PTFE is non-toxic, non-leaching, and FDA 21 CFR compliant — used in food processing, pharmaceutical, and medical device applications.
